Alaska 2011 8/13 thru 8/23

We returned to Cooper Landing and ARC for 11 wonderful days of hiking and fishing. We saw more bears than any other trip including 2 blacks that crossed the road just 10 ft from the car on our drive back to Anchorage. All in all the fishing was pretty great and although we only had 3 days of sun, the temps averaged in the low 50s for most of the trip. Just the way I like it. While we noticed that many businesses had closed since our last trip in 2008, we also found several new restaurants: Sackett's Kenai Grill and Sunrise Cafe in Cooper Landing and Suzie's in Sterling - all good. And it was great to see Tom Lessard, Jim Wilson and the entire ARC crew once again.
